Daivd’s high performance motor run stand.
This is Gov’s late 30s/early 40s Drake Knucklehead. It is a water-cooled, custom Knucklehead motor that was used strictly for dirt track racing in the late 30s and early 40s. These types of motors were run in Midget Cars. We are completely rebuilding and having to manufacture some of the parts because of how rare it is. He plans to put it back in a race car.
This is a 1942 WLA military bike that we are restoring for a customer. It is currently in progress.
It’s been a long process but Dennis O’s 1946 Indian Chief restoration was finally completed. Dennis was thrilled and is happy to have the bike. He has even already won some awards in some California bike shows. Check out the older posts for the progression of this project.
This motor came from an original unrestored 1939 Knucklehead. The customer wanted to keep the original patina on the motor. We disassembled the motor, cleaned the inside, rebuilt all the internal parts, but left the outside in its original condition. This will look very nice in his unrestored, original 1939. Below is the start-up video.
